📉 August Crowdfunding: Resetting Into Fall

August 2025 saw $26.7M raised in Reg CF—down 23% from July—but $75M in Reg A+ raises pushed the monthly total past $102M. Angel Studios once again dominated with $55M, while Miso Robotics ($6.9M) and Starfighters Space ($4.4M) added strength. On the Reg CF side, Conexeu Sciences ($3.25M), X1 Labs ($1M+), Tradebacked ($1M+), and Bar Nouveau (100%) led a more evenly distributed set of winners. With Honeycomb and Climatize surging and oversubscribed campaigns showing strong community support, August looks less like a slowdown and more like a return to steady baseline momentum heading into the fall season.

INSIDE STARTUP INVESTING

By Sam Fiske / Watch | Apple | Spotify

This Week on Inside Startup Investing: Chris talks with HEVO CEO Jeremy McCool about building a wireless EV charging platform aligned with UL and SAE standards—and already in development with major automakers, including Stellantis. With bidirectional charging, fleet integrations, and pricing competitive with plug-in systems, HEVO is positioned to scale rapidly as EV platforms launch in 2027–2028. This is a rare deeptech business with a long development cycle—but a sharp scale curve once platforms go live.

PITCH REVIEW 💸

By Teddy Lyons \ Deal Report

Brief: SwingVision has developed a patented technology to track 3D objects across sports, enabling automated stats, highlights, and officiating. The platform has over 20,000 paying subscribers, works with 100 college teams, generates more than $4 million in ARR, and has officiated 500+ USTA matches with electronic line calling.

Teddy’s Take: The U.S. Open ended yesterday, with Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka taking home the championship trophies. As a Serbian myself, I was hoping for a 25th grand slam victory for Novak Djokovic as he nears the end of his career. But, sadly, it wasn’t meant to be. But as I was enjoying the tournament last week, I came across a company called SwingVision. This company offers AI-powered game recordings, insights, and stats for tennis and pickleball players. All you need to do is set up your phone with the company’s patented phone mount, and SwingVision’s AI processes video on-device in real time. From there, players receive TV-quality highlights, pro-quality stats, and even AI officiating (ie. the ability to challenge close calls using your Apple watch).

This is definitely one of the coolest companies I’ve seen raising in quite a long time. But beyond that, the traction speaks for itself. SwingVision’s technology is being used by over 100 college teams and has tracked 1 billion shots across 1 million hours of play. On the professional side, SwingVision is backed by Andy Roddick (Former World #1 and U.S. Open Champion) and Lindsay Davenport (Former World #1 and Winner of U.S. Open, Wimbledon, and Australian Open).

The company is also being implemented on the United States Tennis Association (USTA) circuit, having already officiated over 500 matches with electronic line calling. The company is led by Swupnil Sahai, who formerly led object tracking at Tesla and is a Columbia statistics PhD. With $4M in ARR today and $2.75M recorded revenue in 2024, this is a rare sports-tech deal that warrants a second look.

This round closes TOMORROW, so I would conduct your due diligence as soon as possible if you are considering investing.

The artificial intelligence boom has changed the way people use the internet, both personally and professionally. GenAI.Works has quickly grown to nearly $1M in revenue and 12M users with its AI platform helping users access AI news, tools, and educational courses. How does the company grow from here?

Imotobank Dealership is a profitable car sales platform that recorded $15.3M of revenue in 2024. The company has rave customer reviews, but is the business model differentiated enough to make this an investment-worthy opportunity?
